The Defense Acquisition Procurement Administration (DAPA) will join hands with the other defense agencies to establish the blockchain platform.
Through the platform, all military equipment procurement will be made through the platform. This would upgrade transparency in arms bidding and remove sources of possible corruption.
From accepting bidding applications, procurement, and post-procurement assessment, the platform will store and manage all bidding process, a DAPA spokesman said. He added that “our objective is to restore public confidence in arms procurement.”
The DAPA’s plan is to remove sources of corruption in arms procurement. Many DAPA officials were jailed for corrupt procurement in the past.
The blockchain platform would help the administration to reduce administrative costs, he added.
