The Block Media and the other five South Korean media specializing in the coverage of blockchain and cryptocurrency, have formed the association.
On Aug.5, the media organizations will hold a public hearing at the National Assembly to seek ways of upgrading transparency in the trading of digital currencies. The hearing will serve to help lawmakers enact bills.
Mainly, the hearing would focus on legalizing the cryptocurrency exchanges.
The hearing would also seek ways of preventing money laundering, verifying individual traders, and protecting investors in cryptocurrencies.
South Korea has been extra cautious in regulating cryptocurrency trading and exchanges. The Korean government has yet to lift its blacklisting of cryptocurrency trading.
The Korea Blockchain Media Association members include the Distrit, the Decenter, the Block Post, Coin Desk Korea, and JoinD.
