ITU’s International Telecommunication Standardization Sector has adopted South Korea’s four blockchain technologies as global standards.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced Friday that the global body adopted South Korea’s artificial intelligence-assisted automobile security technology, smart grid technology, distributed ledger technology and two-way radio signal communication technology as global standards.
ITU made the decision in the meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting ended Thursday after opening Aug. 27.
A ministry spokesman said the ITU members recognized South Korea’s prominent role in developing the technologies on information and telecommunication.
