Korea’s leading telecom company KT said it would expand blockchain technologies to unmanned currency exchange, automobile data distribution, waste management, and food certificates.
In a speech at the opening session of Korea Block Chain 2019 at the Seoul Grand Intercontinental KOEX in southern Seoul, Yoo Yong-kyu of KT said the telecom company would expand its blockchain technologies to businesses demanding high public trust.
He said KT has been under talks with the government to apply blockchain technology in storing, moving and disposing of wastes. He expects the service to debut soon.
He also said KT would use blockchain technology in certifying Halal foods Muslims enjoy.
