HONG KONG, Nov. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Pando Finance Limited [“Pando”] has been approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to provide securities dealing, advisory and asset management to the investing public of Hong Kong.
On 31-Oct-2022, the Hong Kong government issued a policy statement on the development of Virtual Assets (VA) in Hong Kong. The Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul Chan, stated that “The policy statement explains in detail our vision and approach, regulatory regimes, thoughts on investors’ exposures, and our pilot projects to embrace the technological benefits and financial innovations brought by VA. Our policy stance on VA is now clearly communicated to the global markets and it serves to demonstrate our commitment and determination to explore financial innovations together with the global VA community.”
Ms. REN Junfei, the Chief Executive Officer of Pando, is pleased to announce that Pando plans to launch two Exchange-Traded Funds (“ETFs”) on the Hong Kong Exchange on 8-Dec-2022. The two ETFs are Pando Innovation ETF and Pando Blockchain ETF respectively.
Pando Finance, as a Hong Kong based asset manager, is an expert in both virtual assets and public fund management. Pando hopes to provide this investment concept of “VA +” through our two ETFs offered to both retail and institutional investors.
Ms. Ren has previously worked for Deutsche Boerse AG, Zhenfund, and Huobi Group in executive positions, and in Year 2018 she also founded Redbank Capital which specialized in virtual asset investments and blockchain-related research. She has over 10 years of experience in the financial services and asset management industry. She is supported by a team of experienced portfolio managers who have more than 15 years in public fund management for both retail and institutional investors.
While the Pando Blockchain ETF will invest primarily in listed companies which have invested or benefited from Blockchain technology, applications and virtual assets, the Pando Innovation ETF will have a broader scope in other innovation related themes while maintaining a moderate exposure in VA. The competitive edges of the ETFs will include: first VA related theme ETFs to be launched after the issuance of Hong Kong government policy statement, attractive valuations of VA & innovation related investment over the next 3 to 5 years, local time zone and HK dollar as trading currency for Hong Kong investors versus competitive ETFs listed in the US, and potentially benefited from VA friendly policies from the local regulators.
