South Korea’s mobile software maker Uracle has become the first company in building blockchain infrastructure for the Seoul Metropolitan government.
It will build a blockchain platform whereby the history of second-hand cars is stored for easy access to buyers. No forgery of the history of used vehicles becomes possible once the data is stored in the blockchain. Once this is done, public confidence for Seoul’s leading used car market, Janganpyong, will get a boost.
Under an agreement Uracle signed with the Seoul Metropolitan government, it will also initiate pilot blockchain projects, including authentication of resident cards, payment to subcontractors and city-wide electronic voting.
Uracle’s success is whether it can standardize the distributed ledger technology in blockchain platform so that Seoul City’s existing online sites and interfaces will work trouble-free. Uracle said its Hecate Platform would make it easier to link blockchain engines and customer services.
