North Gyeongsang Province has signed a partnership agreement with Israel’s blockchain solution platform maker ORBS to foster blockchain producers and crease a blockchain-based industrial ecology.
The partnership came after the southeastern province teamed up with Switzerland’s Hammer Team in August.
ORBS will dispatch its specialists to lecture at the provincial academy. The province said it plans to hire trainees who have completed the course at the academy.
The province said despite an urgent need for blockchain specialists, Korea has no institutionalized academy, schools, and courses that foster and educate blockchain. Without such specialists, no startups can emerge, the province said in a press release.
Blockchain technology has unlimited potential for expansion when it is fused with the traditional industries. Notably, the technology draws attention for its decentralized feature and high level of cybersecurity, often called core technologies in the looming Fourth Industrial Revolution.
