Cryptocurrency exchange Gopax has become the first South Korean company to get the Internet Security Management System (ISMS) certificate for its high-quality protection of customer information.
The honor came after GOPAX became the world’s first cryptocurrency exchange to attain ISO/IEC 27001 certification in July this year.
To get the ISMS certificate, companies must develop, manage and operate the system to protect essential information assets. The government-funded Korea Internet & Security Agency screens and awards the documents only to the companies which passed the KISA test. The KISA evaluation consists of 104 standard items, including five stages of information security management procedures and 13 areas of information security measures.
Amazon is the first global cloud service provider who got the KISA-initiated ISMS certificate.
