South Korean blockchain developers have begun a high-pitched campaign to lobby lawmakers as the government shows a lukewarm attitude toward cryptocurrency, initial coin offering, and blockchain business.
They trumpeted the job creation effect the blockchain industry might maximize once the industry gets strong support from the government and the National Assembly.
They teamed up with lawmaker Lee Seok-hyun of the governing Democratic Party to host a seminar titled “ the jobs the blockchain industry would create.”
Haxland CEO Noh Jin-woo listed the ten new job categories in the blockchain industry. They include blockchain designer, writer, developer, business analyst, token economy designer, blockchain operator, sales & marketing personnel, blockchain academy lecturer and blockchain community manager.
He said the job market is unprecedentedly tight these days, but the job openings for blockchain experts has been on a sharp upturn.
A KAIST professor said demand far exceeds supply for minders, blockchain developers and venture capitalists and cryptocurrency exchange workers. He said webtune comics writers and cartoonists would also be badly needed when the blockchain industry is taking off. He said Uber’s effect in creating jobs.
