Will Bitcoin ETF possible this year?
Will the Bitcoin would be traded on stock exchanges this year? Bitcoin’s becoming an exchange-traded fund (ETF) is a crucial issue in the cryptocurrency market this year.
As is well known, an ETF is created when managers pool a wide variety of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin in a fund and list the fund on the stock exchange. When listed cryptocurrencies are traded on the exchange, investors can buy the funds, not individual cryptocurrency.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed its decision on whether Bitcoin would be listed on the exchange.
Once approved, it would trigger a popularization of cryptocurrencies and enable blockchain developers to raise capital more efficiently.
The SEC is scheduled to review the application in February. Investors, fund managers, and blockchain developers are keenly monitoring what decision the SEC would make next month.
Last month, Bitcoinist reported a possibility of about 10 percent of the SEC approval out of the regulator’s concern over price manipulations.
