Samsung Electronics Monday unveiled its blockchain Keystore and Daaps at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Keystore and Dapps are available at Samsung’s latest model Samsung Galaxy S10 model.
It picked COSMEE as its first Dapp partner. COSMEE is South Korea’s beauty business blockchain platform.
COSMEE provides COSM cryptocurrency to people who post reviews on beauty business.
It started its pilot service last August and has been attracting more than 1,000 subscribers daily. It would start business sometime in the first quarter of this year.
Its cryptocurrency wallet, which runs on the Samsung Knox security platform, could store Bitcoin, Ethereum. Samsung KNOX received certificates from cybersecurity agencies in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and China.
A Seoul cryptocurrency exchange executive said, “Samsung cryptocurrency wallet would enable investors to keep their private keys safely.”
In buying and selling cryptocurrencies, investors need private keys, which should match with public keys. Once they lose private keys, they have no way of finding their cryptocurrencies.
The executive expects Samsung Galaxy 10S to popularize the trading of cryptocurrencies worldwide.
