A blockchain-based social networking service, called Snac, will make a debut in South Korea. However, the debut date has yet to be announced.
Sigmachain announced Tuesday that a trial operation has been underway for the launch of the Snac. It is the first decentralized (DApp), which Cigmachain’s main net Futurepia.
Snac seeks to ‘democratize’ social networking service. Unlike the current SNS, all users can earn money according to their contribution. Namely, users can make money when their contents generate income. One-to-one live chatting, a group chat, live streaming, shopping, and contents creation and sharing are available at the Snac.
All information on users and contents will run on a blockchain. It means transparency because no central authority controls the SNS. No manipulation is possible, according to a Sigmachain spokesman
Inside the Snac, a cryptocurrency wallet is available. The users can trade in goods and services through cryptocurrencies. Cash transfer worldwide is possible without banks. Translation services for 32 languages, including English and Chinese are available.
Snac will use two cryptocurrencies—Pia and Snac. Pia is a utility coin which investors can use on an exchange for the South Korean currency and other cryptocurrencies.
Snac is a stable coin because its value is tied to the South Korean currency. It is the medium of payment for content creators on Snac. Users can shop for goods and buy contents. Snac can be exchanged in the South Korean currency or other cryptocurrencies.
The two cryptocurrencies—Pia and Snac—will get listed on the exchanges both at home and abroad.
