The North Jeolla Province named Glosfer and Nineis to develop a blockchain-based platform for tourists. The province is the hometown of South Korea’s largest Hanok Village.
The province would realize smart tourism for incoming tourists. It would introduce a blockchain-based local coin and provide Internet of Things (IoT)-based services to the travelers.
Through the blockchain platform, tourists would have real-time information on all things about tourism.
Each year, more than 10 million tourists visit Jeonju, where clusters of the Hanok are houses in main downtown blocks.
The province would use Big Data analysis through the blockchain-based platform to improve its services to the incoming tourists.
The province would expand the use of blockchain platform beyond Jeonju to the other counties.
