KEB Hana Bank and Korea University signed an agreement last week for joint research on blockchain technology.
Under the agreement, they will also share blockchain-based data and content, develop blockchain-based financial products and services, open programs for fostering blockchain developers and assist in the startups.
KEB Hana Bank is South Korea’s first bank that has joined in the global blockchain consortium Hyperledger and Ethereum Enterprise Alliance. The bank has 47 blockchain patents.
The university runs a blockchain research center for helping students learn the latest trend in blockchain
As part of their joint project, the bank will use its blockchain technology for issuing student cards.
