Bithumb cryptocurrency exchange has invested in asset tokenization blockchain platform Codebox. It also signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s rating company for blockchain projects Standard & Consensus (SNC)
Codebox issues securities-type tokens on the back of property and artworks and manages them through its blockchain-based platform.
Last April, its main net Codechain debuted. The Codechain platform also provides solutions for voting, paying dividends, and freezing accounts of criminals.
Bithumb said it would co-develop platforms with Codebox.
Bithumb also said it would cooperate with China’s SNC in securities-type token projects. SNC would analyze and rate securities-type offerings (STO), which Bithumb’s American partner seriesOne arranges.
Bithumb plants to open the securities-type token exchange through seriesOne. It has already applied with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to begin the exchange.
Bithumb is the only Korean exchange seeking securities-type token projects.
