South Jeolla Province would establish a blockchain-based platform to help consumers trace its organic foods.
The province would use the state budget of about $2million in launching the project.
Through the platform, consumers would get information where, when and how organic food grows, get processed and get distributed. This information would help consumers check the authenticity of its agricultural produce.
This would also help the province reduce paper works and administrative procedures. This would also help farmers boost income, the province said.
