South Korea’s No.1 messenger company Kakao Thursday unveiled its blockchain main net called Klaytn.
Its blockchain subsidiary Ground X launched the main net.
It also made public the governance council, which would have the final say in running Klaytn.
The council members include 20 global enterprises in IT, telecommunication, content, game, and finance. They include LG International, Celtrion, LG U+, Union Bank, and Net Marble.
Celtrion is Asia’s largest bioengineering firm. Net Marable is South Korea’s iconic online game firm.
Ground X council members are pan-Asian companies, including those from the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and China.
Ground X will unveil Klaytn-based services next month. For example, if you write a review on food and restaurant, you will get coins, with which you can pay bills in designated restaurants.
Ground X also made public the blockchain app. Through the app, you can enjoy online game Klaytn Knights, and Marvel Clans.
Many ordinary people have little idea over what benefits they can enjoy through blockchain. However, Klaytn would help them appreciate what convenience and services blockchain would bring about, a Ground X spokesman said.
He added that Klayton would become South Korea’s first blockchain platform.
