Samsung SDS has succeeded in tracking containers plying between Korea and the Netherlands through its blockchain platform.
It joined hands with ABN Amro Bank and the Rotterdam port authority to track container ships leaving Korea to the Rotterdam port in the Netherlands
The successful tracking came out after they unveiled a partnership agreement last October.
Samsung SDS would commercialize the blockchain-based tracking system, which would remove all documentary requirements. From departure to settlement, the blockchain platform handles the process, a Samsung executive said.
Samsung linked the two different blockchain-based tracking system between Korea and the Netherlands. Korea Customs Service uses the hyperledger fabric platform while the Netherlands uses the Ethereum-run system,
