# Aptos Achieves Unprecedented Growth in Web3 Ecosystem Throughout 2024
Aptos ($APT) has marked 2024 as a year of unprecedented growth in the Web3 ecosystem, driven by innovation and collaboration, thereby reinforcing its foundation for future decentralization. The ecosystem’s potential has been demonstrated through technical advancements, a surge in global developer participation, and new records, establishing Aptos firmly in the global blockchain landscape.
At the outset of 2024, Aptos had 250 projects within its ecosystem. By expanding into diverse fields such as DeFi, gaming, and consumer applications, the count has exceeded 330. Additionally, Aptos Collective has enhanced its community base with over 60 ambassadors.
Aptos also gained notable attention at global events. Beginning with the Ecosystem Summit in Palo Alto, the Hong Kong DeFi Summit, and culminating in September with the Aptos Experience—a large-scale event that celebrated ecosystem innovation, facilitated collaboration, and showcased new technology announcements shaping the future of Web3.
# Record-Breaking Developer Participation and Technological Milestones
The Aptos Foundation hosted the summer hackathon “Code Collision,” drawing more than 2,600 developers who submitted over 650 projects. Among these, 50 winning teams were awarded a total of $500,000. This initiative provided developers with powerful tools and collaborative opportunities, proving the ecosystem’s innovative potential.
2024 stood out as a year of significant technological advancements for Aptos. In February, the platform introduced the first security-based on-chain randomness API for PoS blockchains, opening new possibilities in gaming, NFTs, and other sectors. July saw the launch of Aptos Keyless and Aptos Connect, aiming to provide a user-friendly experience by reinventing wallet accessibility.
During the fall, the Aptos Experience event unveiled community-led technological innovations such as Move 2, Raptr, Block-STM v2, and Aptos Build, further solidifying the ecosystem’s foundation.
# Unmatched Transaction Updates and Record Daily Volume
Aptos showcased remarkable scalability in 2024, setting new transaction records. On May 25, Aptos processed 156 million transactions in a single day, and on August 15, it surpassed this figure with 326 million transactions. Consequently, Aptos now holds four record transactions for the highest daily volume among blockchains.
Developer engagement surged as well, with more than 1,000 new developers joining the ecosystem throughout the year. According to an Electric Capital report, Aptos has established itself as the second fastest-growing developer ecosystem globally.
Total Value Locked (TVL) in Aptos increased by 1,800%, surpassing $1.2 billion, while daily active addresses soared from 70,000 to nearly 700,000. Monthly active addresses also reached an all-time high of 8.8 million in December.
